SALLY CHRIST  Vice President  A graduate of Johns Hopkins University and a global sustainable tourism expert, Sally oversees all project operations. She is a multi-linguist who speaks Swahili, Spanish, French, and Japanese, and has worked extensively around the world, including over two decades in travel and tourism where, among many other things, she was lead author of the National Tour Guide Training Manual for Belize, conducted the evaluation of Mountain Gorilla Tourism for USAID, and was Africa Director for Overseas Adventure Travel.

NINA BOYS  Project Director  A seasoned world traveler and sustainable tourism specialist, Nina has a Media and Communications degree from NYU and a professional background in hospitality management. She has run top luxury resorts in Latin America, working to improve their sustainable tourism practices, enhance their food and beverage programs, and develop the guest experience. A talented travel writer and photographer, her work has appeared in  Virtuoso Life ,  TimeOut Shanghai  and  Huffington Post , among other publications.

HITESH MEHTA   Hitesh is an ecoArchitect, ecoLandscape Architect, and an international expert in ecotourism physical planning and ecolodge design. He is the author of “Authentic Ecolodges” and has nearly 30 years of professional experience working around the world.

KARMA TSHERING   Karma, a sustainable tourism specialist, served for many years with the Parks of Bhutan, where he was instrumental in developing the eco-tourism guidelines for the Protected Areas of Bhutan. A strong advocate for sustainable tourism development, in 2018 he established the Bhutan Sustainable Tourism Society.

Karma, a sustainable tourism specialist, served for many years with the Parks of Bhutan, where he was instrumental in developing the eco-tourism guidelines for the Protected Areas of Bhutan. A strong advocate for sustainable tourism development, in 2018 he established the Bhutan Sustainable Tourism Society.

MASARU TAKAYAMA   Masaru is the Founder and Executive Director of the Asia Ecotourism Network. He has worked on sustainable tourism projects around the world and also in his home country of Japan, including a 1941 historic building 'Shunyoso,' located on Awaji Island, in collaboration with local communities.

PEGI VAIL   Pegi is a film maker and storyteller. An anthropologist by training, she is Co-Director of the Center for Media, Culture and History at NYU. Her award-winning film,  Gringo Trails , explores the long-term cultural and environmental effects of global travel and sustainable tourism practices.

SAMSON PARASHINA   Samson Parashina is President of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust (MWCT), a grass roots indigenous community project developing sustainable tourism models for preserving the wilderness, wildlife and culture of the Tsavo-Amboseli ecosystem and the Chyulu Hills in Kenya.

SANDRA HOWARD  Sandra began her career as a passionate journalist and social communicator. She worked extensively in both radio and television in Colombia and the US before being appointed by the President of Colombia as the Vice Minister of Tourism responsible for overseeing her country’s sustainable tourism development initiative.

TONY CHARTERS  A native of Australia, Tony is an internationally recognized expert in sustainable tourism best practices, including planning, destination development, and management. With over 20 years of experience in tourism, Tony also worked as a senior executive in World Heritage and protected area management.
